What a kitchen renovation includes

A kitchen redone by Batira is a coordinated project from start to finish: demolition, plumbing, electrical, cabinet installation, countertop fitting, tiling, painting, baseboards. We don't subcontract randomly : each trade is selected and supervised by our team.

Cabinets: we work with Bellmont, Ikea, and custom suppliers depending on your budget. No dogmatic preference : we advise based on the best value for your specific situation.

Counters: quartz, granite, high-pressure laminate, poured concrete. Quartz is our default recommendation for durability and maintenance, but it's not always the right answer for every project.

What derails a kitchen project

Ventilation and electrical. In homes built before 1990, kitchen circuits are often 15A on a shared line. A modern island hood, refrigerator and dishwasher require an electrical panel upgrade. We assess this before signing the contract, not after.

Plumbing in triplexes: plumbing stacks often run through walls you want to open. We pull the plans before demolishing.

Realistic budget in Montreal

A standard 10–12 linear-foot kitchen with Ikea cabinets, quartz counter, new plumbing and electrical: $25,000–$40,000. Semi-custom or custom cabinets with island: $45,000–$75,000.
