FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Pricing, timelines, warranties. Straight answers to real questions.
- How much does an emergency call-out cost?
- We charge a fixed dispatch fee (varies by zone) plus the actual cost of work. Everything is itemized in writing before we start. No hidden fees, no unannounced after-hours surcharges.
- How quickly do you respond to emergencies?
- Under 90 minutes from Saint-Hyacinthe to Greater Montreal, 24/7. Nights and weekends, we keep the same commitment: our on-call team covers all zones.
- What warranty do you offer?
- Written warranty of 1 year on labour for all work, 5 years on load-bearing structures. It's in your contract, not just verbal.
- How long does a kitchen renovation take?
- A standard kitchen (cabinet replacement, countertop, tile | no plumbing changes): 5–8 business days. If we're reworking plumbing or electrical, count 2–3 weeks. We give you a precise schedule in the quote.
- How long does a bathroom renovation take?
- Standard bathroom: 3–5 days. If we're modifying plumbing, installing a walk-in shower, or adding a heated floor, count 7–12 days.
- Do you work on wet or problem basements?
- Yes. We start by identifying the moisture source (foundation infiltration, condensation, plumbing) before finishing. Finishing a wet basement without fixing the root cause means redoing the work in two years. We tell you the truth upfront.
- Do you work in English?
- Yes. Our team is bilingual FR/EN. Forms, contracts, communications | everything can be in the language of your choice.
- Do you do the work yourselves or subcontract?
- Both, depending on the type of work. Our in-house team handles carpentry, demolition, finishing, and coordination. Specialized trades (plumbing, electrical, gas) go to licensed subcontractors we know and supervise.
- What is your service area?
- Saint-Hyacinthe and the Montérégie region (our home base), plus Greater Montreal: the island, Laval, the South Shore (Longueuil, Brossard, Saint-Lambert, Boucherville) and the North Shore (Repentigny, Terrebonne, Blainville). Outside these zones, call us: we evaluate case by case.
- Can I stay in my home during the work?
- For most renovations, yes. Basement and kitchen work can proceed while daily life continues. Work affecting the main structure, electrical panel, or generating heavy dust may require a few days away. We'll let you know in advance.
- What do I do if there's water damage at night?
- Turn off the main water supply if possible (shut-off valve under the main sink or at the entry point). Call us at 438-366-9135 immediately. We arrive in under 90 minutes. Don't touch electrical systems if water is near a panel or outlets.
- Do you do mould inspections?
- We do a visual inspection and identify at-risk areas. For a certified inspection with lab testing, we work with accredited inspectors we can commission. If we see mould, we don't start work until the moisture source is fixed.
- How does payment work?
- Deposit at signing (typically 20–30%), progress payments on longer projects, balance at project completion. We accept bank transfer, cheque, and card. Never full payment upfront.
